Our Systems Engineering function is currently looking for a Senior Integration, Verification, Validation & Qualification (IVVQ) Engineer. You will be responsible for system integration and testing for solutions within the rail domain. This role primarily focuses on tram and light rail projects but may also involve major urban rail, mainline rail, and telecoms projects.

This hybrid role requires at least two days per week on-site in Cheadle and may involve travel to Birmingham and London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Lead defect identification, performance bottlenecks, and system issues.
  • Implement IVVQ processes and methodologies as per the GTS Management System.
  • Support Work Package Managers with status updates, progress measurement, and risk identification.
  • Act as a mentor and leader within the IVVQ team.
  • Interface with clients for test specification approvals and acceptance testing.
  • Write and approve test plans, test strategies, and test specifications.
  • Execute test plans according to project schedules.
  • Develop tools to support efficient IVVQ tasks.
  • Maintain quality targets and standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Technical Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience in system development and IVVQ methodologies.
  • Strong background in testing and integrating complex systems, preferably in tram, rail, or telecoms.
  • Excellent understanding of systems architecture and design patterns.
  • Experience in managing configuration control and IVVQ tool development.
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership abilities.
  • Proven ability to mentor and coach team members.

Human Skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring diverse teams.
  • Ability to gain buy-in from strong technical stakeholders.

Hiring Process
